Hi Product Hunt, I’m Fabio, the maker of Vera.

Vera is taking part in Product Hunt and OpenAI’s GPT-6 Astra Challenge on September 18. I used GPT-6 Astra in Codex to develop Vera’s latest budgeting example and reporting improvements, including the interactive budgeting report on Sites with Actual/Budget comparisons, year-end forecasts and IBCS-style charts and tables.

Open the ChatGPT marketplace, search for "accounting", and install Vera.

Vera brings specialist accounting workflows into Codex. It works with the files an accountant already has and prepares work they can inspect, correct and keep.

For example, give Vera accounting and budget exports. It inventories the files, asks you to confirm the mapping and control totals, runs the calculations, and prepares an Excel workbook, an HTML dashboard and a written report. Actual/Budget comparisons include both amount and percentage variances. Missing inputs and failed controls are made explicit.

Try the interactive budgeting report on Sites (Italian, synthetic data): Actual/Budget comparisons, year-end Forecast, variances in both € and %, and IBCS-style charts and tables. Switch between monthly, year-to-date and year-end views.

Codex provides the environment and tools for carrying out the work. Vera adds the accounting methods, workflow tools and review steps. It also records what code processed locally and what was visible to the model. Professional judgment and approval stay with the accountant.

Vera is free as a plugin. The host service’s plan and usage charges still apply.

If you work in accounting or build tools for professional work, I’d love your feedback: which check or report would you want Vera to prepare first?

What became possible in your product with Astra that was not practical before?
Astra helped me take Vera’s budgeting and reporting improvements from a specification to a tested, shipped example in Codex. I used GPT-6 Astra to develop monthly Actual/Budget comparisons and year-end forecasts, with amount and percentage variances, IBCS-style charts and tables, and explicit controls. The result includes an interactive report shared through Sites, using synthetic data, so accountants can inspect the comparisons and assumptions. The practical gain was carrying connected changes across calculations, presentation and validation in the same development workflow. This work shipped through PR 602 and Vera 0.1.241. Vera is an existing product; this launch focuses on these recent improvements. Demo:
