UPCV differs from most resume builders by focusing on structure, not just generation. Instead of assuming users know how to write resumes, it guides them through a short conversation and converts input into structured, reusable resume data. Its modular architecture avoids template lock-in, supports role-specific versions, real-time WYSIWYG editing, and long-term reuse across layouts, languages, and platforms.

Why we built UPCV We didn’t plan to build another resume builder. While helping people with job applications, we kept noticing the same pattern: most users weren’t lacking experience — they just couldn’t express it clearly. Some froze in front of a blank page. Others had long resumes full of information but little signal. Even strong candidates were being filtered out by ATS before a human ever saw them. At first, we tried improving templates. It didn’t work. The real problem wasn’t layout. It was expression. So we stopped asking users to “write a resume.” Instead, we built a short conversation that asks what they did, in what context, and what changed because of their work. Once people stopped trying to write and started simply answering, things became much clearer. We also realized that many users already had resumes — they just weren’t ATS-friendly. Rewriting everything from scratch felt wrong. So we built a way to restructure raw resumes into ATS-adapted versions without losing meaning. That’s how UPCV started: not as a generator, but as a system to translate real experience into clear, adaptable resumes.
