UniQR reads QR codes already on your screen. Press a shortcut, select a scanned link, and open it in your browser. Free and open source for Windows, Mac, and Linux.

Hi everyone, I’m Patrick. I built UniQR because I kept reaching for my phone to scan QR codes already on my laptop screen.
Press one shortcut, select a scanned link, and open it directly in your browser. UniQR is free and open source for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
It also checks links locally for suspicious patterns, without sending them to a server. These checks flag warning signs. They don’t guarantee a link is safe.
I’d love your feedback. Which operating system did you try, and was anything confusing about scanning or opening a link?
Thanks to @tylerfactal for the Product Hunt nudge, and to everyone who tested UniQR and shared feedback.

Simple, smart, works. More like this please! I miss tools that just solve a really obvious loophole hah
