Link doesn't work (EDIT they fixed it). Found the post about it here: https://www.uber.com/newsroom/ju... Look like it's a pilot program in SF, waitlist only, with an e-bike company called Jump.

@shimmb should work now! 😻

@shimmb Yep that's the correct! I'm VP of Marketing at JUMP Bikes. We're currently in a pilot with the SFMTA in San Francisco with 250 bikes. There's also a dedicated JUMP app but Uber Bike is an awesome way for SF residents to find & book JUMP bikes seamlessly from the Uber app. The bikes themselves are our e-assist bikes that give you a boost (up to 20mph) whenever you pedal so it really helps conquer those SF hills! We hope you like the bikes and the Uber Bike experience.

How is it different from the giants in this category - Mobike, OfoBike
Rikin Diwan
@tahatayyab Two things. First, We're the first dockless electric bike share system in the US. (We were also the first dockless in the US with Social Bicycles). Second, our bikes are designed with an integrated u-bar and lock to existing infrastructure like bike racks. This is important because less than 1% of all of our rides have resulted in a complaint about how the bike was parked at the end of the ride.

@rikin311 your “second” point contradicts with your “first” how it can be dock-less and still need bike racks?
Rikin Diwan
@tahatayyab Ahh I can see where the confusion comes from. Docks (aka hubs or stations) are designated bike racks where you must pickup and rent a bike share company's bike from. Also, no other type of bike can be locked there. Docks are in specific locations. Bike racks mean any publicly available bike rack that can be shared by private bike owners or a bike share rider. Hope that clears things up.

Just spent the last few days moving, I'd love Uber for Moving Trucks. It would be super convenient to use a U-Haul type of truck by the hour instead of by the day.
