Typilot - One private AI assistant for your whole desktop.

by
Typilot — a private, on-device desktop AI assistant. Voice dictation, autocomplete, writing polish, clipboard manager, hands-free notes, and meeting recaps — in every app you already use. Replace a stack of cloud subscriptions with one app that runs fully on your machine. Nothing leaves your device. Typilot isn't just a local wrapper around AI models — it makes them genuinely useful. It feeds them the context they're missing and learns from your private data to become a real personal assistant.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 Solo dev here, built this out over the last several months. The thing that pushed me to start was a small, dumb moment. I was about to paste a half-finished contract into some cloud AI to clean up the wording, and I just stopped. I didn't actually want that text sitting on the cloud. And I realized I do that kind of thing constantly. Dictation, rewriting emails, summarizing calls. All of it going to the cloud without me really thinking about it. So Typilot runs everything on your machine instead. Voice, autocomplete, clipboard manager, writing, meeting notes. It uses local models (Ollama + local speech stuff) so nothing leaves your device. It works system-wide, in whatever app you're already in. I'll be honest about where it's at. The core works and I use it every day, but it's still rough in places and I'm a one-person team, so some things are slower to land than I'd like. Launching on Macos, Windows and Linux. Genuinely here all day to answer anything. And I'd love to hear what you'd actually want a local assistant to do, especially the stuff you don't trust the cloud with. That feedback shapes what I build next.
