Google TV hides the default home setting, so custom launchers like Projectivy, AT4K or Monet keep losing the Home button. TV Box Tools sets any launcher as the real HOME app over ADB, without typing commands, from your phone, PC, browser or the TV itself. One press restores the stock home screen. Free, open source, and Claude can run it for you.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Jim, the maker. If you've ever installed Projectivy, AT4K or Monet on a Google TV, you know the moment: you press Home and you're back on the stock screen with its ads. Google TV hides the "default home app" setting that phones have, and the usual workarounds (Button Mapper, accessibility services) get switched off by Android. TV Box Tools writes that hidden setting for you over ADB. It walks you through Developer options, finds your TV on Wi-Fi, and makes the launcher you pick the real HOME app with one press. It runs on your phone, a computer, a browser or the TV itself, and one press brings the stock home screen back. Two things I'm proud of: it's free and open source (Apache-2.0, no ads, no account), and it has an MCP server, so you can ask Claude to set up your TV box and it does it, asking before anything changes. Full disclosure: I built most of it with Claude Code. I'd love to hear which TV or box you tried it on, especially where it didn't work.
