Truncbit - Storage that makes sense

by
Every cloud storage plan makes you pick a tier, then charges you for the whole thing whether you use it or not. Truncbit doesn't do that. Upload files, create folders, share with anyone. You're billed only for your peak GB each month above the free 5 GB. Use 23 GB? Pay for 18 GB. Delete files and your next bill shrinks. No tiers, no commitments, no wasted spend.

Hey Product Hunt 👋, I built Truncbit because I was tired of paying for cloud storage tiers I barely touched. Every time I checked my Google Drive or Dropbox bill, I was paying for 200 GB while actually using 40 GB. That's the dirty secret of cloud storage pricing. Fixed tiers are great for the provider, not for you. The idea: What if you just paid for what you stored? Truncbit bills on your monthly peak GB useage above 5 GB at a flat rate per GB. That's it. No tiers. No plan upgrades. No paying for headroom you don't need. Delete files and next month's bill goes down automatically. What I built: - File + folder storage with sharing (read-only or write access) - Public share links for individual files - Soft delete with a recycle bin (files in trash still count toward storage, a reminder to clean up) - Storage usage history so you can see your trend over time - Download folders as ZIP - Usage-based billing through Stripe, calculated on your monthly peak The honest trade-off: If you store close to 2 TB every month, a flat Dropbox plan is cheaper. Truncbit wins for everyone who doesn't, which is most people. I'd love to hear what you think.
