Why I started TrimDown in a crowded Markdown editor market

When working with Claude, Gemini and ChatGPT, I kept running into delays with the end of the context windows. I realized that I need to turn my input files - PDF, Word and URLs, into Markdown to substantially reduce the input without compromising the content. I also needed some of the output in Word in my own template, and no engine could do that.
I tried some simple Markdown editors - they were too simple for AI work and lacked features I needed, such as importing any format, a full synched preview, more editing tools. I tried the leading Markdown editors - they were too complex. And no one could output the AI results in my own Word template.
This led me to create TrimDown.
