What makes you trust an AI product recommendation?
We are preparing TrendHub for launch and working on a difficult product-design question: an AI can rank products from a natural-language request, but a ranked list alone is not enough to earn trust.
Which evidence matters most before you act on a recommendation?
• a clear explanation of why each item matches the request
• transparent source and price information
• community discussions and first-hand experience
• creator videos or live demonstrations
• several alternatives with trade-offs instead of one “best” answer
Our current direction combines text-based AI selection with product-trend signals, forum context, creator video/live shopping, and independent storefronts. We do not offer photo search, and marketplace data used for matching is not presented as our public product feed.
I would especially value examples of recommendations you trusted — or immediately rejected — and why.
