Hi Product Hunt! 👋 We’re Yojihan, a small team from Japan, and we made tone because we wanted digital photos to have the imperfect warmth of something printed on paper.
tone lets you turn photos into 1–3 color layered prints using halftone dots, ink overlap, misregistration, and paper textures. You can start with a preset and get something interesting in seconds, or dive deeper and adjust each layer yourself.
One thing that was important to us: tone doesn’t use generative AI. The look comes from our own image-processing algorithms, and your photos are processed locally on your device.
Since launching on iOS, tone has been downloaded more than 130K times, and we recently brought it to Android as well. We’re excited to finally share it with the Product Hunt community.
