To-do lists that live on your desktop, not in a menu bar

I'm Kasun, and I made Tic.

I kept bouncing between to-do apps. Most were heavier than I needed: accounts, logins, sync settings and a dozen views, when all I wanted was to see what I had to do today.

So I switched to sticky notes on my desktop. They looked great and were always in view, but they weren't built for to-dos. There were no checkboxes, no subtasks, and no quick way to tick things off.

Tic combines the two. Every list is a small sticky note that floats on your Mac desktop, and each one is a real checklist:

• ✅ Tick tasks off, and nest subtasks up to three levels deep

• 📝 Inline Markdown and multi-line tasks

• 🎨 Six paper colours, or glass so your wallpaper shows through

• 📌 Keep a note above everything, or roll it up to just its title

• ⌨️ Keyboard-first, with a quick search across all your lists

• 🔒 No account, no cloud: everything stays in a local file on your Mac

It's free and open source (MIT) and needs macOS 14 or later. One heads-up: it isn't notarized yet, so macOS will warn you on the first launch. The site has a one-line fix.
