Hello! I'm Marc, the founder and lead engineer. I personally try to buy everything second-hand that I can. But that would mean comparison shopping amongst a bunch of different places when looking for a specific item. I built Thrift Label to help solve this: Thrift Label is a search-engine aggregator that searches across many different marketplaces and stores, looking for just the second-hand items, and shows them to you all in one result set. For each marketplace, it does a custom search filtering for just the second-hand items, and then returns a combined search. Anything "not new", including open-box and refurbished, counts. - Amazon, ebay, Mercari, Poshmark - Craigslist, OfferUp - Backmarket, Best Buy - ThredUp, Depop, Branded Resale - Aptdeco, Ikea - Shop Goodwill, Goodwill Finds - Sideline Swap Branded Resale (where brands host their own resale store) is booming, so my next goal is to index more of the branded resale stores. Looking for a water kettle? Looking for crayons? Looking for a raincoat? Looking for a hammer? Thrift Label will probably help you find it second-hand. I'm an efficiency guy, and It drives me nuts that we keep making and buying new things when there are all these great items already available. The better we can make the second-hand ecosystem, the bigger it will get, and the less waste there will be. I hope that people like it!
