The Slop Tells Checklist - Spot AI-written text in 60 seconds

by
AI writing leaves fingerprints: the hedge words, the rule-of-three lists, the "it's not just X, it's Y" cadence, the confident filler. Slop Tells is a free one-page checklist of the tells that give it away, so you can catch AI slop in your own drafts before you send them and in anyone else's before you trust them. No signup wall, no tool to learn. Read it once and you will never unsee the patterns.

Hi Product Hunt. I am Mathieu, the human behind NerdyChefs. I built this because I kept noticing the same handful of patterns in AI-generated writing, and once I could name them I could not stop seeing them. The hedge that commits to nothing. The list that is always exactly three items. The "not just X, it's Y" rhythm on repeat. The paragraph that sounds confident and says nothing. Slop Tells is the one-page checklist of those tells. It does two jobs. It helps you catch slop in other people's writing before you trust it, and, more usefully, it helps you catch it in your own drafts before you hit send. That second job is the one that actually changes how you write. It is free, no email wall. If you want the other half, the fixes, that is a separate thing I will leave in a reply rather than clutter this. One ask: tell me the tell I missed. I will add the best ones to the next version and credit you.

For anyone who wants the fixes and not just the detector: the companion is "Write With AI Without Sounding Like AI," a short field guide to deleting the tells from your own drafts. It is $19 here: store.kesslernity.com/l/write-with-ai-without-sounding-like-ai. No pressure, the free checklist stands on its own.
