The Contextualizer—a handy framer of the leader of the free world, lest we forget who we've democratically elected. Install the extension and choice modifiers helpfully accompany every mention of our illustrious leader (and some special guests) as you browse online.

Hey Product Hunt 👋, Matt here, creator of The Contextualizer. The Contextualizer started with the simple observation that my inner voice would insert colorful names in place of Trump every time I would scan The New York Times or watch the nightly news. “There’s that voice, again. What’s fuckhead doing this time?” It’s safe to say that for most, the news of late has been a lot, and somewhere between doomscrolling and tuning out entirely, I wanted a real third option: the same headlines, with a little editorial honesty and hopefully some minor relief. Under the hood, the extension just watches the page as you browse and a fitting modifier accompanies select names—nothing’s sent anywhere, nothing’s stored, it only alters what’s on your screen, locally. It randomly pulls from a pool (148 and counting) so it stays fresh. We also opened the online Shade Gallery for people to take part in the experience, where they can submit their favorite sightings from wherever they happen to be reading. It’s a carefully built farce and hopefully a kind of tonic in these crazy times. I’d love your feedback—and if you catch a good one in the wild, drop it in the Shade Gallery to share with the world. It’s free on Firefox if you want to kick the tires before deciding to support the project at the nominal $4 list price. Thanks for your consideration.
