Here's what I built with The AI Platform in just a few hours — Dialed, a coffee dial-in coach that behaves like a patient barista looking over your shoulder.
The problem dialing in a new bag of coffee is guesswork. You brew, it's sour, so you grind finer — now it's bitter, you overshoot, you waste half the bag, and you never really learn why. Dialed turns that mess into a guided, converging loop.
Here's how it works
Add the bean — Tell it the roaster and bean. Dialed hands you a starting recipe (grind, temp, ratio, bloom) with the numbers set for your gear.
Dial In — Brew it, taste it, tap how it landed (sour? bitter? weak? muddy?). Dialed changes one variable at a time, and once you cross from sour to bitter it brackets the grind and narrows in on the sweet spot like a binary search.
Brew It — Once it's dialed, anyone in the house can pull up a kitchen-friendly checklist and make it perfectly. No decisions, no guesswork.
Coffee grinders don't agree with each other — a "6" on a Fellow Opus isn't a "6" on an Ode. So Dialed never stores a dial number. It stores microns, and every grinder carries its own mapping. The loop reasons in microns and renders it as your grinder's real setting. Every dial-in you finish calibrates the map further — so the app gets smarter the more you use it.
The whole thing — the taste loop, the bean research, the micron engine, user-scoped storage.
Genuinely a blast to build!
