We made my AI chatbot dumber on purpose. Here's why
Every AI chatbot company is racing to make their bot answer everything.
I went the other way.
TeklTalk will straight-up refuse to answer if it's not confident the response is actually in your website content. No smooth-talking. No "well, typically companies like yours..." No made-up refund policy. Just: "I don't know."
Sounds like a bad feature, right? Here's why I built it anyway 👇
I got burned by a support bot that confidently quoted me a return policy that didn't exist. Cost the company a customer(me) and probably a support ticket to clean up. That's the moment I decided: an AI that says "I don't know" is more trustworthy than one that never shuts up.
So TeklTalk trains only on your own site content, answers with a source link every single time, and has a confidence dial you control — turn it up, and it gets stubborn about only answering what it actually knows.
Curious what this community thinks:
🔥 Would you trade "always has an answer" for "never lies to you"?
🔥 Worst hallucinated-bot experience you've personally had?
🔥 If your site could self-answer ONE question your inbox is drowning in, what would it be?
