How Tabie Saves Memory your Browser is eating!
Hey Product Hunt!
I'm one of those people with 40+ tabs open at all times. Chrome squishes them into tiny favicons, eats my RAM, and I still can't find anything. So I built Tabie.
How Tabie saves RAM
- Smart Sleep: one click puts every tab you haven't used in 30 minutes to sleep. It uses Chrome's own tab discarding, so the page is unloaded from memory but the tab stays exactly where it was. Click it and it reloads. Pinned tabs, tabs playing audio and the tab you're on are never touched.
- Super Clean: close tabs you haven't opened in 1, 2, 4 or 6 hours, every duplicate, or everything at once. Pinned and playing tabs are kept, and anything closed can be reopened from Recently Closed.
- Previews that never wake tabs: Tabie only captures a preview of the tab you're actually looking at. It never reloads a sleeping tab just to screenshot it. Previews are small compressed thumbnails, deleted the moment you close a tab.
- You can see what's asleep: sleeping tabs get a moon badge, so you know which ones aren't using memory.
