switchboard - connecting agents with (support) agents

by
Connect a voice agent from your app of choice to the app. Listen to both sides, adjust their volumes independently, and record the conversation. You can watch a demo video on my GitHub!

Hey everyone! Voice AI can hold a conversation, but connecting it to someone on a call still takes some plumbing. I built Switchboard to make that connection easier, using the apps you already have. Switchboard is an open-source macOS app that routes audio between your AI voice app and your calling app. You can listen to both sides, adjust their volumes independently, record the conversation locally, and optionally enable live transcription and translation. The work quickly became about more than routing audio: keeping controls responsive during a session, handling disconnected devices, and making a growing transcript easy to follow. Those details have shaped the app. It’s currently in beta for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 26 or later. The demo shows a recorded call replay with edited Korean subtitles. I’d love to hear your stories. Happy to answer questions!
How did Astra change the scope or ambition of what you built?

Astra (and its friend gpt-live-1) understood my intents well, and it made the process a whole lot faster.
