SubPlayer - Find subtitles for any movie or show, fast

by
Download subtitles easily on iOS, Android, and Mac. Search by title, pick a language, download the SRT. Overlay subtitles on top of any app, even ones that don't support custom subs. Import captions straight from YouTube. Adjust font size, timing, and position.

Hey! I made this because I kept ending up with a movie file and no way to watch it without subtitles. Every subtitle site I found meant switching to a browser, searching, downloading, then moving the file over. On a phone that's way more friction than it should be. Built this to make the process more accessible on iOS, Android, and Mac. Just search a title, pick a language, and download the SRT. The app supports dual subtitles and video playback. You can drop your own SRT in too if you already got one, or pull captions straight from YouTube. Once it's downloaded it's accessible offline. There's also an overlay mode that floats the subtitles on top of other apps, even ones that don't let you load your own subs normally. Curious how people who watch a lot of subbed anime or foreign stuff handle this right now, what's annoying about it?

Would love to see a hotkey or shake gesture to quickly toggle the subtitle overlay on and off without leaving the app I'm watching in. Right now it's a few taps every time and breaks the flow when I'm switching between shows or checking something reference-heavy.
