StreetLens - Report rent abuse & get UK tenant rights help

by
Renting in the UK has always been a power imbalance. Landlords have legal teams and property software. Renters have a WhatsApp group and hope. StreetLens changes that. A free platform for UK renters to report rent abuse, get instant legal feedback under the Renters' Rights Act 2025/2026, find the right local council contact for their area, and track escalations. Fully live. Free to use. Built for renters.

The idea came from a real frustration. Renting in the UK means navigating a system that has historically been stacked against tenants. Vague complaints processes, no clear record-keeping, and no easy way to know your rights in the moment. I wanted to build something that felt less like filing a complaint into a void and more like having a structured, informed process on your side. The tenant rights engine was actually added later in development. I originally built a reporting tool but kept thinking, 'What is the point of reporting if you do not even know what your rights are?' So I built that in too, mapping it directly to the Renters' Rights Act 2025/2026, which came into full effect this year. The council finder came from the same logic. Even if you want to escalate, finding the right email for your local authority is surprisingly hard. StreetLens does that lookup for you. Early days with a small user base, but the problem is real, and the legislation is brand new, so the timing felt right. Would love feedback from anyone who has dealt with housing issues as a renter or anyone building in the civic tech or legaltech space.
