Stranded - ESL immersion that drops you into real situations
by•
Most ESL apps teach grammar. Stranded drops you into the moment — luggage lost, pharmacist waiting, manager just asked you to lead the meeting.
You talk your way out. In real English. Right now.
— AI reacts like a real person, not a script
— Error pattern memory tracks what you struggle with
— High-stakes scenarios that actually happen abroad

Hey PH 👋
I built Stranded after watching a friend — fluent on Duolingo, silent in a real conversation — freeze at a pharmacy abroad because she couldn't describe her symptoms.
That's the gap. You can score 90% on a grammar quiz and still panic when a real person is waiting for your answer.
So I built scenarios around the moments that actually break people: lost luggage, job interviews, landlords explaining contracts. The AI doesn't follow a script — it reacts, pushes back, waits. You have to actually communicate.
Still early.
Would love brutal feedback — especially from ESL learners or teachers 🙏
