Storage Menu - Disk space in your Mac menu bar, and what's using it
by•
Storage Menu shows used and free space for your Mac and external drives right in the menu bar, with a warning you set for each volume.
Choose Analyze… on any volume to open a disk map: every folder is a cell sized by the space it takes, colored by folder, file type or age. Click to go inside, preview with Quick Look or show in Finder. Nothing is changed or deleted.
No telemetry, no data collected. Native Swift app for macOS 14+, Apple Silicon and Intel, in 50 languages.

Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I built Storage Menu recently, for myself. My Mac kept running out of space between AI tools, Docker, Xcode and everything else, and I wanted something that showed me the space at a glance, and also what was actually using it.
I also keep several volumes connected at the same time for different things, and I wanted to keep an eye on all of them.
So each volume gets its own small bar in the menu bar, with a warning when it gets too full. When one gets tight, Analyze… opens a map of its folders, sized by the space they take, so the biggest ones are easy to spot.
It's a paid app on the Mac App Store: $1.99, one-time purchase. No subscription, no telemetry.
Next, I'm thinking about showing storage used in Google Drive and other cloud services.
I built it around my own setup, so I'm curious how it holds up on yours. Tell me what's missing.
