Stillwhere - A study space with ambient scenes, focus tools, and company

by•
Stillwhere is an immersive study space that combines focus timers, dynamic scenery, music, white noise, study history, and a quiet real-time community. Unlike typical Pomodoro apps, the environment is part of the experience: some scenes change throughout the day, from morning to night. You can study alone, or simply know that others are focusing alongside you — without turning it into a distracting chatroom.

I built Stillwhere because I kept going back to Study With Me videos whenever a normal timer felt too empty. What I liked wasn’t really the countdown itself. It was the whole environment around it: rain, music, a city at night, and the feeling that someone else was also sitting down and working. But videos are fixed. You can’t really choose the timer, combine the environment and sound the way you want, keep your own study history, or change the experience as your mood changes. So Stillwhere started as a way to turn that passive video experience into something interactive. Over time, it grew beyond the original idea. I added dynamic scenes, including day-cycle environments that change from morning to night, music and white noise, study history and statistics, and eventually a small real-time community. The community became one of the parts I care about most. I didn’t want to build another chatroom that competes for your attention. The idea is much quieter: you can open it, notice that other people are studying too, say something if you want, then hide it and continue. Stillwhere is completely free right now, and you don’t need an account just to start studying. I’d really like to know what people here think, especially about two things: 1. Does the environment around a focus timer actually make a difference for you? 2. Does quiet companionship feel useful, or would you rather keep focus tools completely solitary? Thanks for checking it out.
