Is Talent Enough to Succeed in Film & Music industries?
by•
We’re often told that if you’re talented enough, you’ll make it.
But in film and music, is that actually true?
From what I’ve seen, success often depends on:
• Who introduces you
• Which circles you’re part of
• Which city you’re based in
• How visible you are to decision-makers
There are incredibly skilled actors, musicians, writers, and creatives who never get the right exposure.
At the same time, producers and labels rely heavily on trusted networks because there isn’t a structured way to evaluate new talent at scale.
So I’m genuinely asking: Is talent alone enough?
Or is access just as important?
