Would you let an AI SQL tool connect to your company database?

Would you allow an LLM-powered tool to connect directly to your company database?

I’m building SQL Mocker, which takes a different approach: users work from schema metadata and generated dummy data to verify results, instead of giving AI direct access to production databases.

I’d be interested to hear how people working with SQL, BI, analytics, or reporting think about this.

Is the above workaround necessary or do you fell comfortable letting an AI SQL tool connect directly to your database?
