The inspiration for SproutSim started when I realized that gardening is hard. I lived in Tucson, which was too hot and dry for a lot of the veggies and fruits that I was used to. One day, by a happy accident, I found out that I could grow tomatoes in a pot if they were underneath the shade of a pomegranate tree. This led me to try other things too. Soon, I had a small, thriving garden because my pomegranate tree could take the sun and the heat, and protected the other plants. I realized that if I could somehow calculate how much sun an area of my garden was getting, I could design and plant with confidence.
I have tried to put that into an app where users can use it easily, get the answers they need, and go on their way. I hope that this app will be a tool that can help and not get in your way. This app is continuing to improve and get more information and features to help people have a better gardening experience. It is currently only an Android app.
