Spotch® - Business health platform for professional service firms.
by•
QuickBooks shows you the money. Harvest or Toggl shows you the hours. Spotch, the business health platform for professional service firms, connects the two. No time tracker? Upload a timesheet CSV. More integrations are on the way. See profit and forecast next to each person's utilization against target and revenue against salary, plus how much you rely on your top clients. Test a new hire in your forecast before you make the offer, and check any month against your books in one click.

Hi Product Hunt,
I'm Nick, co-founder of Spotch. I've run Reputation Partners, a national PR firm, for more than two decades, and I've learned which numbers tell you whether a services firm is healthy. Knowing what to watch was never the hard part. Getting to the numbers was. They lived in QuickBooks, our time tracker, and a forecast spreadsheet, and pulling them into one picture took hours every time.
Spotch is the view I always wanted. Connect QuickBooks and your time tracking (Harvest, Toggl, or a CSV upload), and in about 10 minutes you get one dashboard for:
Utilization by person, team, and firm
Margin, expenses, and monthly P&L, updated daily
Client concentration, so you see revenue risk early
Revenue per employee and people costs
A 3-year forecast built from your actual data
It's built for firms of 5 to 100 people: PR/Marketing firms, consultancies, law firms, accounting practices, agencies, staffing firms and fractional CFO/financial advisors.
Paid plans include a 14-day trial, no credit card required, and founding member pricing is open now: Essentials at $23/mo and Spotch 360 at $49/mo, locked in as long as your subscription stays active.
If you run or advise a services firm, I'd love to know: what's the one number you wish you could see every morning?
if one client has 3 separate customers in QuickBooks, can you group them so the concentration number counts them as one?
@greg_glazewski Great question! Not today. Spotch counts each QuickBooks customer on its own in the concentration score, so a client billed under three customers shows up as three. Grouping them into one client is a great use case, and we're noting it for our current roadmap which will give our users more deeper visibility into their clients and employee utilization. Thanks for asking!
when you add grouping, will it be something you set inside spotch or does it read the parent customer from quickbooks?
@greg_glazewski You'll set it inside Spotch. Today, if a client from your time tracking tool or csv doesn't match up with QuickBooks on its own, you can link it to the right client in the Clients module, which will update the concentration score. Grouping will work the same way: you'll pick the QuickBooks customers that belong together and they'll roll up into one client. Nothing has to change on the QuickBooks side. Thank you for your questions!
@greg_glazewski Quick update: we're also going to read the parent customer straight from QuickBooks. If you use sub-customers, Spotch will roll them up into the parent client automatically with no setup, and you'll still see each one by name with its own revenue.
For customers that aren't set up as sub-customers, you'll be able to link them in the Clients module. Either way, the client counts once in your concentration score. Both are coming soon!
