My name is Will and I am the co-founder of Spectacles.
Before Spectacles, I practiced law at a law firm and an investment bank. I spent countless hours piecing together webs of unique legal definitions within contracts, credit agreements, merger agreements, purchase orders, limited partnership agreements and many others.
I was shocked by the tremendous volume of legal documents business professionals had to read through over the course of a day. What shocked me even more was the amount of time spent deciphering legal terms that were defined by other legal terms. All of that time-consuming work, just to untangle the document!
We launched Spectacles with the simple belief that agreements should be easy to read, both for lawyers and business professionals. You should spend your time thinking about what really matters rather than wasting time piecing definitions together or sifting through pages of your document.
We also found that Spectacles not only makes reading easier, but it also makes you more precise. Many mistakes happen in documents when people lose their way in the web of definitions. Imagine a Loan Agreement where the “Interest Rate” was not correct or a Purchase Agreement where the “Purchase Price” was wrong because the definitions were complicated and no one caught the error!
Spectacles downloads directly into Microsoft Word and will:
• Identify US/English style defined terms (“Defined Terms”) whether in-text or
in an index
• Generate a list of Defined Terms in an interactive side panel
• Provide easy one-click access to definitions of Defined Terms
• Search and display Defined Terms nested inside Defined Terms (“Nested
Definitions”)
• Support in-text highlight and search of Defined Terms
• Enable click-through of Nested Definitions
We want Spectacles to save you time so you can focus on what matters to you. We are offering a free 30-Day Trial via Microsoft AppSource.
Let us know what you think.
