SpeakStop - Pause videos when you speak, resume when you stop

by
SpeakStop automatically pauses video or audio when you start speaking, rewinds slightly so you don’t miss context, and resumes when you stop. Built for reaction videos, commentary, lectures, courses, and any recorded media workflow.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I’m the maker of SpeakStop. I built it because I kept running into the same annoying problem: whenever I wanted to comment on a video, react to something, or say something during a lecture or course, I had to manually pause playback and then rewind to find the exact moment I missed. SpeakStop automates that. When you start speaking, it pauses the video or audio, rewinds slightly so you don’t lose context, and resumes playback when you stop. I designed it mainly for: • reaction and commentary creators • lectures and online courses • anyone who talks while watching or listening to recorded content Current features include: • voice-activated auto pause • slight rewind on pause • auto resume • adjustable sensitivity • microphone calibration • microphone selection • per-site whitelist I’d especially love feedback on: • false triggers • pause/resume timing • microphone behavior on different setups • websites where playback control doesn’t work as expected Happy to answer any questions — including technical ones.
