Why build a competitive spacebar game in 2026?
A few weeks ago I had a simple question:
Does typing speed actually translate into raw spacebar speed?
I couldn't find a place dedicated to that challenge, so I started building one as a side project.
That simple idea slowly turned into SpaceRush:
⚡ Multiple game modes
🏆 Global leaderboards
👤 Profiles and statistics
📱 Mobile and desktop support
🎖️ Achievements and progression
What surprised me most is that some very fast typists don't necessarily get the highest CPS scores.
It feels like spacebar speed is its own skill.
I'm still very early in the journey and I'd love feedback from the Product Hunt community:
