Space - lightweight Mac app for writing reports with AI

by
If you use a Mac and prefer writing reports in Apple Notes instead of Word, this app might be a good fit. - It keeps files local and is extremely lightweight. - You can write comfortably, and when you press Enter twice, AI responds right below your text. If it’s just a one-time question, you can simply scroll down and delete the response, then use it again like a normal notepad. Above all, it’s great for people who dislike the grand, complicated UI of Copilot or other AI writing tools.

If you’ve ever drafted a report section or polished an email by switching back and forth between Apple Notes and ChatGPT, you’ll feel this right away. When the wording doesn’t come out the way you want, you end up copying, pasting, revising, and jumping between apps over and over, which is incredibly inefficient and frustrating. So I spent two years looking for a better way to keep writing without leaving the work itself, and today I’m excited to launch Space. Space starts like Apple Notes, but the real difference shows up when you need help mid-thought. You can be drafting an email, revising a report section, or polishing a proposal, and just press Enter twice to open a conversation right where you are. That conversation can turn back into editable notes, so your ideas keep moving without the usual stop-and-start between writing and chatting. You can also bring in previous chats or notes with @, and ask AI to save the key points into a new note session whenever you want. It removes the boundary between notes and chat so your thinking can keep flowing without interruption, especially when you’re already in the middle of writing something important.
