Hey Product Hunt, I built Sotto because I wanted a faster way to listen to text on my Mac without copying it into another app or sending it to a cloud TTS API. Sotto lives in the menu bar. Select text in any macOS app, press your shortcut, and it starts reading locally in under 2 seconds using Kokoro through FluidAudio/CoreML. You can pause, speed up, slow down, stop, or jump between previous and next sections from the menu bar. I use it for docs, drafts, issues, articles, and long messages when listening is easier than staring at another paragraph. It is still early, and I’d love feedback on: - selected-text extraction reliability - reading order for tables and PDFs - local TTS model support - optional cloud providers while keeping local-first as the default GitHub: Thanks for taking a look.

It reads the selected text aloud almost instantly, which is really impressive. I find it incredibly helpful, and the voice sounds very natural.
