What inspired you to build this?
Most small businesses in India are run by people who are genuinely excellent at what they do. A furniture maker in Azamgarh who has been crafting sofas and beds for twenty years. A consultant in Delhi who has built real expertise. A packers and movers team in Mumbai that has moved hundreds of families. These businesses are real, they are growing, and they have customers who trust them.
But none of them had a proper business dashboard. No single place to see their leads, track their follow-ups, showcase their products, and present a professional face to the world. Their operations lived in WhatsApp groups, notebooks, and memory.
That gap inspired us. Not a gap in the software market — a gap in who software was being built for.
What problem were you trying to solve?
Three things that kept showing up together.
The first was invisibility. A business like RK Furniture in Azamgarh had no professional digital presence beyond a phone number. No place to send a customer that showed their full product range, their story, their reviews. We wanted every business to have a live profile at solidcorn.com/theirbusiness — shareable on WhatsApp, Instagram, Google — built and live in under five minutes, for free.
The second was operational chaos. Enquiries coming in through calls and messages, no system to track which leads were warm, which needed a follow-up, which had converted. Business owners were losing customers not because of a bad product but because nothing was being tracked. We built a business dashboard where every lead has a stage, every follow-up has a reminder, and nothing falls through.
The third was fit. Every existing tool assumed you ran a generic business. A furniture seller needs fields for dimensions, material, and finish. A real estate agent needs BHK configuration, carpet area, and possession date. A logistics business needs pickup city, vehicle type, and weight. We built industry-specific templates for 13 plus sectors so the dashboard works for your business from the moment you sign up — not after weeks of configuration.
How did your approach or process evolve?
We started with almost no product and a lot of listening. Different businesses, different industries, different cities. We did not ask what features they wanted. We watched what they actually did every day and counted what was breaking.
The first version was tiny. A public business profile and a basic lead list. We gave it to one business and stepped back. Within two weeks they had shared their profile link in customer WhatsApp groups and were receiving enquiries they would have completely missed before. That was enough to keep going.
The biggest shift in our thinking came around simplicity. We originally built a fully open system — configure everything yourself, add any field, set up any pipeline from scratch. Nobody used it. People would open the dashboard, see empty configurations, and leave. We replaced that with industry templates that are ready the moment you sign up. The flexibility is still there for businesses that need it, but it is never the first thing you see.
The second shift was about the public profile. We built it as a feature. We realised it was actually the engine. When a customer receives a WhatsApp link from a business and lands on a clean, professional profile with real products, real reviews, and an enquiry button — they trust that business more. And the business owner sees that trust being built in real time. That is what made early users tell other business owners about us without us asking them to.
The last thing that changed was our stance on pricing. The instinct in SaaS is to restrict the free plan so people upgrade faster. We went the opposite way. We made the free plan genuinely useful from day one — a real business profile, real lead tracking, real product catalog. We only ask businesses to pay when they are already growing and need more. That decision built trust faster than any growth tactic we tried.
