The Most Important Lesson I Learned From Going Top 100 in the World

by

You’re probably thinking I went Top 100 in the world in business or tech thing.

Nope.

This is about a video game.

Stay with me... I promise it’ll make sense.

A few years ago, I obsessed over a game called Rocket League.

Imagine soccer… except everyone is driving rocket-powered cars.

That’s the whole thing... chaos, flips, explosions.

It was amazing.

I played so much that over time, I eventually became Top 100 in the world.

And naturally, I thought that meant people would care when I posted regular clips online.

They didn’t.

My first videos were just cool goals... no story, no hook, no reason for anyone to stay.

And the views reflected that: basically zero.

Then I learned the most important lesson in content:

No one cares about what you did.

They care about why it matters.

When I started telling people what was about to happen- “I beat these trash-talkers as a Top 100 player…”

everything changed.

Suddenly, people watched the whole video.
Not because of the gameplay, but because they were following a story:

  • Who talked trash?

  • Was I actually good enough to beat them?

  • What happened next?

People stayed because they were invested.

That’s when I realized storytelling is the real skill... not gameplay, not mechanics, not talent.

And that lesson applies everywhere.

Golf, makeup, gaming, cooking, fitness, tech.

If people don’t understand what’s happening or why they should care, they scroll.

Story gives meaning.
Meaning makes people care.
Caring keeps them watching.
Retention = growth.

That single insight eventually led me to create Socialync.

Because once I figured out how to tell a good story, the next challenge was getting that story in front of people. If you only post on one platform, you’re limiting your reach before the story even has a chance.

So I built Socialync to make posting easier:

  • One upload.

  • One caption.

  • Post everywhere... in seconds.

Because if you’re telling good stories, they should be seen everywhere…
Not just wherever you had time to manually upload.

Let your energy go into creating.

not copy-pasting captions across apps.

Socialync handles the busywork.
You handle the story.
