I wanted something faster than scattered screenshots, messy folders, and horrible separate notes. Love how everything stays local and the non-destructive annotations are a lifesaver. One thing I'd love to see is a quick-share option that generates a temporary public link for a single screenshot without uploading to a cloud account on your end, maybe via end-to-end encryption where only the recipient with the link can view it. Would make collaborating on visual bugs much easier while still respecting the privacy-first approach.

 Hey Charlie! Thanks a lot for the feedback, your comment actually sent me right into a research rabbit hole trying to figure out how to pull this off while keeping SnapFlow strictly local.

Technically, pointing the local save folder to a synced Drive or OneDrive folder is an easy workaround for web links, but since you prefer avoiding cloud accounts altogether, I started looking into zero-knowledge temporary hosts (like or similar APIs) where the image is encrypted locally before uploading. It also got me thinking about link-sharing versus direct file sharing. End-to-end encrypted platforms like Signal or WhatsApp are great for sending raw images securely, but they obviously aren't built for project work or visual bug tracking. I'm digging into whether there's a cleaner solution out there for collaboration.

Right now, SnapFlow's internet usage is strictly limited to web captures and optional translations. For zero-cloud sharing, using the built-in copy button or dragging screenshots straight into Slack, Teams, or Discord works super smoothly and keeps everything local.

Figuring out temp E2EE links without running my own servers will definitely take some real dev time and research around API limits and stability, but I really appreciate you bringing this up. I'm keeping it on my list to explore for future updates!

Love that everything stays local and the OCR actually picks up text in screenshots cleanly. The color-coded folders make it easy to find stuff without thinking about it.

The OCR is powered by Tesseract under the hood. And yeah, the color system is one of those things I didn't expect to be so useful. I mostly use it on labels to group folders, but I also color important folders directly when I want them to stand out.
