Very excited this feature is being worked on. Sad to see it released in a half-baked state. You can't really consider a group feature to be considered finished when a vast segment of your users are unable to be invited to, or participate in groups by platform. Hopefully there will be a follow up announcement when it's no longer in a half working, incomplete state.

Haven´t done the update yet but it seems like snapchat needed an urgent update of its app all because of Instagram story and now LIVE.

I can't wait to see what kinds of emergent use cases come about with this feature. I'm also very interested to see how well it will compete against established messaging groups - I personally have groups spanning Google Hangouts, Facebook Messenger, Slack, etc. that have proven resilient.

The comparison of snapchat and Instagram is overrated really. Two different audiences. Instagram is for older people which is why it's so simple. It's also brand friendly and lots of automation of followers. Snap is not that, which is why they aren't losing any members. There's far more privacy
