building SPM, a resume to portfolio tool, launching in a couple days

by

hey everyone,

quick intro, im building Smart Portfolio Manager (SPM), a tool that turns your resume and github into a shareable dev portfolio in under 30 sec. launching here in a couple days and wanted to start the convo early.

why i built it: lost a couple interview chances cuz my old portfolio was outdated. between updating resumes, applying to roles, and everything else, redesigning a portfolio site every few months just never happened. so i built something that automates it, upload your resume pdf, AI pulls your experience and skills, sync your github, pick your best repos, done.

whats live right now:

  • resume pdf parsing

  • github sync + repo picker

  • 3 themes: bento grid, macos window, terminal shell

where i could use input before launch:

  • what would make this a must have vs just a nice to have for your job search/portfolio needs?

  • any themes or styles you'd want beyond the current 3?

  • anything about resume-to-portfolio tools thats frustrated you before, with other tools or just doing it manually?

been testing with some early users already and getting good feedback (few parsing gaps on older resumes, people asking for manual editing after it generates, stuff like that), so this is shaped by real input so far. would love to hear your thoughts before launch day.

thanks for reading, more soon!
