Heya Product Hunt folks, I built Telescopo because I was tired of keeping five different apps around just to read files. Preview for PDFs, Marked for Markdown, Xcode or VS Code for code files, random apps for ePUB. It was a mess. Started as a simple markdown viewer called Smackdown a few months ago. But as I kept adding features, I realized I could make one viewer that handles everything. So I spent months rebuilding it from scratch with Metal acceleration to keep it fast even with huge files. What makes it different: Most "universal" viewers just show you raw text or basic formatting. Telescopo actually understands each file type. Code gets proper syntax highlighting with function detection. Mermaid and PlantUML diagrams render perfectly with dynamic zoom support. EPUB/eBook Files keep their chapters and formatting. Everything loads instantly thanks to Metal. The thing I'm most proud of: the tab and window system. You can have a PDF manual in one window while flipping through code samples in tabs in another window. It sounds simple but getting this to feel truly native and fast took forever. Also pretty stoked that I added 70+ formats and gave existing Smackdown users the upgrade for free. Felt like the right thing to do. Would love to hear what file types you deal with daily. Already planning LaTeX support based on early feedback!
