Skisso - Edit your live UI in your design system, hand off the diff

Skisso is a free Chrome extension for designers and developers who build with AI coding agents. Point at any element on your live product and edit it in your own design system: your tokens, your components, a shadcn/ui kit that matches your styles. Then hand your agent only the exact change, as a small diff or over MCP. No more describing pixels in prose or pasting the whole page: about 380 tokens instead of 25,700 in our test. Runs locally, no account.

Hi Product Hunt! I'm Alex, a product designer in Sweden. For the last two years I've built most of my work with an AI agent next to me. The agent writes code fast. The slow part was always the same: telling it which button, which gap, which blue. "Make it a bit bigger." "No, not that one." Screenshots, pasted CSS, half the page in the chat. Every round cost tokens and patience. So I built the tool I kept wishing for. With Skisso you point at the element on your real, running product and change it right there: spacing, type, colour and contrast, gradients, layout, hover states. It reads your design tokens, so the change stays var(--brand) and not a random hex. Need something new? Drop in a component from the built-in shadcn/ui kit and it already looks like your product. Then you hand your agent only what changed: the selector and each value, before and after. Copy and paste into any agent, or connect it over MCP with npx skisso, and your agent can read your selection and fetch your changes itself. Everything stays on your machine. It's free, no account, works on localhost, staging and production. What I'd love from you: try it on your own product and tell me where it breaks. Already on my list from early feedback: editing per breakpoint without losing the token links. Thanks for checking it out!

Being able to click the exact thing I want changed instead of describing it in a prompt makes so much sense.

Keeping the existing tokens while making visual tweaks is the bit that caught my attention. Little inconsistencies add up fast.

Does it work well with components you've heavily customized, or is it mainly for more standard setups?

No signup just to try it? Already a plus in my book.
