Building a virtual version of Shithead / Palace: What house rules did you grow up playing with?

I'm preparing to launch Shithead Online (also known as Palace, Shed, or Karma depending on where you're from).

If you’ve ever stayed in a hostel, backpacked through Southeast Asia/South America, or spent late nights in college dorms, you probably have fond (or chaotic!) memories of this card game.

One of the fascinating things about Shithead is how everyone learned slightly different "house rules":

- Does playing an 8 skip the next player or can it be played on anything?

- Are Jokers in the deck to burn and transfer the pile to a target player?

- Can you interrupt out-of-turn with a 4 or complete four-of-a-kind?

I built a web-first version focused purely on Zero-Friction play: no app download, no registration, no ads - just generate a table link and play with friends or smart bots in your browser.
