Shelvdon's origin: just some guy who's tired of writing paper tickets and making phone call
Hey Product Hunt!
I m Harry, the creator of Shelvdon.
A few months ago, I posted on Reddit asking for advice. I was working part-time at a local shoe store in Canada that did about 100 shoe repairs a month. Our workflow was completely analog: writing instructions on paper receipts, stuffing them inside boots, tracking everything in a massive spreadsheet, and making manual phone calls that went straight to voicemail.
Unclaimed repairs started piling up. We constantly had 20+ pairs of shoes sitting on our backroom shelves gathering dust and taking up valuable retail space.
Since I have a tech background, I looked for a lightweight solution to manage our backlog and auto-text customers. Everything out there was either a bloated, expensive enterprise POS system, or a generic task manager that couldn't handle transactional SMS.
So, I spent my nights and weekends building Shelvdon. I designed it to do a few things exceptionally well:
1. Clear Backroom Space: Associate every order with a physical shelf tag so you find shoes in 3 seconds.
2. Automate SMS Alerts: Send compliant SMS notifications when a repair is marked 'Done' so customers pick up their items immediately.
3. Secure Pickups: Generate unique PIN codes sent via text to verify the customer at the counter (especially useful for expensive leather goods or designer shoes).
4. Keep it Simple: Clean, neo-brutalist dashboard that takes 2 minutes to learn.
To celebrate the launch, I am running a Founding Beta Phase. You can use Shelvdon completely free during the beta, and you'll lock in a permanent 50% discount when it ends.
I'd love to hear your feedback, feature ideas, and suggestions!
Happy tracking!
