sessionSnapshot - Capture, replay & generate automated tests effortlessly

by
sessionSnapshot records your entire browser session — clicks, logs, and screenshots — and lets you replay everything locally to understand what really happened. It’s privacy-first (no cloud), tracks what areas were covered during testing, and can automatically generate Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium scripts from your session. Designed for QA engineers and developers who want clarity, speed, and control — all offline.

Hey everyone 👋 I’ve been working in QA and engineering for over 15 years, and one recurring pain always bothered me — losing context while testing. You find a bug, but can’t remember the exact steps. You run an exploratory session, but later someone asks, “What did we actually test?” sessionSnapshot came out of that frustration. It’s a small privacy-first Chrome extension that records everything that happens during your browser session and lets you replay it locally. It also shows what you’ve covered (so exploratory testing isn’t invisible anymore) and can generate automation tests from your session. If this project resonates with you, I’d love your feedback or ideas. Thanks for checking it out 🙏
