Sentient was inspired by the recurring problem we faced while delivering managed IT services and building enterprise systems: organizations were forced to run operations across too many disconnected tools: separate platforms for ITSM, CRM, HR, projects, monitoring, and reporting. This fragmentation created inefficiency, data silos, slow workflows, and high operational overhead. The core problem we set out to solve was simple: how do you run modern business operations without constantly switching systems, duplicating data, and stitching processes together through fragile integrations? We initially approached this by improving individual modules, but quickly realized that incremental fixes still kept the same underlying problem in place. That shifted our approach toward building a unified operations platform where workflows, data, and automation are inherently connected rather than integrated after the fact. Over time, our process evolved from “adding features to replace tools” to designing a single operational layer that supports multiple functions natively. We focused heavily on configurability, cross-department workflows, and scalability for both enterprises and managed service providers. This led to a platform built around unification first, with automation and intelligence embedded by design rather than layered on top.
