Why "hire a VA" and "use AI" are solving two different problems (and when you actually need both)

When we were pitching the early version of dolv, a pretty common reaction was "couldn't I just hire a VA for this?" It's a fair question and it took us a while to articulate the actual difference clearly.

A good VA handles ambiguity, context, judgment calls, and relationship-sensitive tasks. AI automation handles high-volume, repetitive, rule-based execution across systems without getting tired or forgetting a step. They're genuinely not competing for the same jobs. The problem is that most teams are currently using the expensive human for both categories.

Dolv specifically targets the execution layer: syncing CRM data, running funnel reports, staging campaign drafts for review, scoring leads. The stuff that chews through hours not because it's hard but because someone has to do it. A great VA shouldn't be spending their day on that.
