What’s the BEST strategy you’ve found to get the first users for your SaaS? 👀
by•
I’m building a software for small landlords/property investors and I’m curious what actually worked for other founders.
Was it:
— LinkedIn content?
— Cold outreach?
— Product Hunt?
— Communities?
— Paid ads?
— SEO?
— Referrals?
Everyone talks about “growth hacks” but I’d love real answers from people who actually got users.
What gave you your first 10 customers?

I'm building a SaaS platform to help SMBs audit their website to identify areas for improvement in the UX and UI. We released the MVP this year, so we're very young, but so far the best way we've got users is through communities and at industry events. Both channels give us direct contact with our target user. I'm building online presence through social media, LinkedIn, various forums, and email subscribers, so that when we're ready for paid ads we have a good understanding of targeting.
Our first 10 customers came from coaching platforms where I coach about conversion rate optimisation to small business founders.
