We built our affiliate program in-house — the math, and what we'd pay you

Maker of PostPulse here (we launched our social media API on PH a while back).

We wanted an affiliate program for our 9-platform posting API. The obvious path was

Tolt/Rewardful/Refgrow at $29–49/mo plus fees — but we realized we already owned the

two hard parts: first-party attribution (a cookie we set anyway) and our own Stripe

webhooks. So we built it into the product in two days: referral cookie → commission

ledger → a "Refer & Earn" tab every user already has. No third-party script for

ad-blockers to eat.

The program itself, since that's the part you can use:

• 20% of every payment your referrals make — for their first 12 months

• Subscriptions AND pay-as-you-go credits count

• 60-day attribution, monthly PayPal payouts from $50, no cap

• You get your link in under a minute: https://post-pulse.com/affiliates

Two questions for the community:

Makers — did you build or buy your affiliate stack, and do you regret it?

Creators — what actually makes you promote a dev tool: the rate, the cookie

window, or just product fit?

Smart call building the affiliate system yourself... saves a ton in the long run.

If you're up for it, I'm launching The Sponge, an AI-powered flashcard app with a browser extension, on PH soon... would appreciate a follow (See "PRODUCT HUNT LAUNCH" Link in my profile)
