We built an ERP to eliminate the "Wipe Tax" on ITAD packing benches. Here is why.

by

Hey everyone,

If you’ve ever run an ITAD (IT Asset Disposition) or hardware refurbishing operation, you know the packing bench is where profits go to die.

The biggest margin killer? Per-device erasure licenses. The software industry has gaslit us into believing that wiping a drive safely should cost money every single time.

We decided to build FehrWatch to build a tool that actually respects workshop realities.

Here are the core rules we built the system on:

  1. Zero-Cost-Wipe: NIST compliance belongs in the system core. Unlimited wipes must cost €0 in additional fees.

  2. Stop the Tab-Switching: Technicians lose hours researching prices. We baked arbitrage math, risk matrices, and repair buffers directly into the millisecond workflow.

  3. Hardware is dirty: Paper tags get smeared. We integrated a rugged camera OCR that reads device data blindly under workshop conditions.

It’s a closed, uncompromising workflow from intake to the final tamper-proof certificate. No patches, just a deterministic machine.

We just put it out there and want to get some brutally honest feedback from the PH community.

What’s your biggest bottleneck when processing physical hardware? Let’s discuss!
