Velo Workspaces — native Mac app for disposable Linux/macOS VMs, with local AI Bridge
Hey everyone
Sharing Velo Workspaces here, a native Mac app I built on Apple's own Virtualization.framework (not a QEMU wrapper) for running disposable Linux and macOS VMs on Apple Silicon.
Two things I think set it apart:
Disposable Workspaces — clone a base image in seconds, use it, close it, and it's gone, disk included, no dead files left behind in your host system, unlike installing something directly and hoping the uninstaller cleans up after itself.
AI Bridge — a VM reaches a model server (like Ollama) running on the Mac's own Metal-accelerated GPU over a fast vsock-based channel, so AI agents get local inference with no cloud dependency and no code changes on their end.
Built this solo after 20+ years as a software engineer — got laid off, decided to build the tool I actually wanted instead of going back to a corporate job.

Happy to return the favor if you're launching something too.
