Title: I built a free study toolkit as a student — here’s what I learned
Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I’m a student, and I recently built StudyCore, a free all-in-one toolkit designed to make studying a little easier.
The idea started with a simple problem: students often use multiple different tools for things like creating summaries, flashcards, quizzes, calculating grades, tracking attendance, generating citations, and more. I wondered if I could bring useful tools together in one place.
Building it has been a huge learning experience. Some of the biggest things I learned were:
Start with a real problem instead of just adding random features.
Keep the interface simple — students don't want to spend time learning another complicated app.
Feedback is more valuable than assumptions.
You don't need to wait until something is perfect before letting people try it.
StudyCore is still a work in progress, and I’m continuing to improve it based on feedback.
I’d love to hear from other makers: What’s the biggest thing you learned while building your first product?
If anyone wants to check out what I built, it’s here:
