Title: I built a free study toolkit as a student — here’s what I learned

by

Hey Product Hunt! 👋

I’m a student, and I recently built StudyCore, a free all-in-one toolkit designed to make studying a little easier.

The idea started with a simple problem: students often use multiple different tools for things like creating summaries, flashcards, quizzes, calculating grades, tracking attendance, generating citations, and more. I wondered if I could bring useful tools together in one place.

Building it has been a huge learning experience. Some of the biggest things I learned were:

  • Start with a real problem instead of just adding random features.

  • Keep the interface simple — students don't want to spend time learning another complicated app.

  • Feedback is more valuable than assumptions.

  • You don't need to wait until something is perfect before letting people try it.

StudyCore is still a work in progress, and I’m continuing to improve it based on feedback.

I’d love to hear from other makers: What’s the biggest thing you learned while building your first product?

If anyone wants to check out what I built, it’s here:
