Somehow, we still make decisions with screenshots and spreadsheets.
I’ve built software for 14+ years. Somehow, we still make decisions with screenshots and spreadsheets.
Hi everyone! 👋
I’m Ernesto, co-founder of Scalari.
I’ve spent more than 14 years building software, leading engineering teams, working with startups, and helping companies turn technology into actual business results.
And somewhere along the way I noticed something slightly absurd: companies have never had more data… and somehow it’s still surprisingly hard to answer simple business questions.
“How much are we actually growing?”
“Which customers are really profitable?”
“Why did conversions drop?”
“What should we be worried about next month?”
Sounds simple.
Then you open the CRM.
Then Stripe.
Then HubSpot.
Then the spreadsheet someone created six months ago called: FINAL_REPORT_v7_REAL_FINAL.xlsx
And suddenly you’re doing digital archaeology instead of making a decision. 😅
That problem kept showing up everywhere.
The issue wasn’t that companies needed more dashboards.
They already had dashboards.
Lots of them.
The problem was that every tool had a different piece of the story — and sometimes a completely different definition of the same customer, metric, or event.
So @jgz and I started building Scalari.
The idea is simple, although the engineering definitely isn’t: Connect the tools a company already uses, understand how the data relates across them, reconcile that information, and use AI to help explain:
What is happening?
Why is it happening?
What could happen next?
And what should we do about it?
hat last question is the one I care about the most.
Because I don’t think the future of business intelligence is another prettier chart.
It’s software that helps people make better decisions.
We’re still early. We’re building, testing assumptions, talking to users, breaking things, rebuilding them, and discovering that apparently connecting company data is slightly more complicated than adding JOIN to a SQL query.
Who knew? 😂
But that’s also what makes this stage exciting.
So I’d love to ask the community something:
What is one business question you should be able to answer instantly today… but still requires opening three tools, asking two people, and probably checking a spreadsheet?
I’d genuinely love to hear the answers.
We’re building Scalari around exactly those problems. 🚀
